There are 10 webinars planned for 2012

Schedule for 2012 is as follows.

January 27th: Change without tears
Did your staff face changes in 2011 they’re still reeling from? Are you facing more changes or difficult decisions in 2012?

In this, the first of 2 webinars on the topic, I’ll explain why these changes can raise the emotional “heat” in any staffroom, and teach some specific strategies to help you manage the “human” side of change more effectively in future.

February 24th: Change without tears, part 2: How to manage resistance, negativity and hostility

Resistance to change is normal. You’ll have learned this in January. But what types of resistance can you expect? And how can you actually deal with these differing types in a way which ensures a smoother ride for everyone? This webinar gives you some top tips on how to make this often extremely challenging situation a little easier on everyone.

March 30th: Redundancy – a manager’s guide to getting it right

In the current climate the threat of redundancy is ever present, and poses a huge challenge to the line manager who is often the one who has to deal with the fall out first hand. In this webinar I’ll be interviewing Kate Russell, an expert on the  topic. How do you navigate this minefield so you not only adhere to legislation but you sensitively and effectively deal with the human challenges redundancy initiaties? Some valuable tips and strategies from Kate in this webinar.

April 27th: Redundancy part 2: What managers need to know about “survivors”

Making people redundant isn’t the only challenge managers and the teams they manage face: even for those who survive redundancy, there are still major challenges ahead. Kate Russell continues to share her wisdom and tips on how to create a more harmonious environment post the redundancy shuffle in this webinar.

May 25th: Building confidence part 1: How to manage up: strategies to more effectively influence your boss!

How do you manage to influence someone above you? Most of us feel a little nervous about approaching someone we perceive as higher status, even more so when we’d like to say something we fear they might not want to hear! In this webinar I’ll share with you some simple tips and strategies to help you feel better prepared, more confident and more effective at influencing those above you in a way which gets you what you want AND maintains a good working relationship.

June 29th: Building confidence part 2: Handling the negative member of staff

Almost every team has at least one! The individual whose negative attitude is spreading to others – a bit like an epidemic! In this webinar learn how to more effectively handle such individuals; what NOT to do; and how you can turn this negative energy into something far more positive.

July 27th: Building confidence part 3: handling “difficult” people

What actually constitutes a “difficult” person and how did they come to be “difficult?  In this webinar I interview  conflict expert Suzanne Neville to give you some simple tips and strategies for handling the trickiest situations.

September 28th: Conflict in a team  part 1: Why conflict starts at all, and how the best managers pre-empt it.

How do you manage conflict? How do you react when it flares up?
In this the first of 2 webinars on the topic of conflict I’ll help you explore your own reactions to conflict through a simple quiz, and give you some proven strategies to help you develop a culture where you do 2 key things:
1) Encourage “managed” conflict. (This might surprise you!)
2) Reduce or eliminate harmful conflict.

October 26th: Advanced skills for managers: Conflict in a team part 2: Non violent communication (NVC) – an advanced skill set for managers

In this webinar I interview experts Anna Finlayson and Daren DeWitt about this simple, yet powerful process which can take your skill (and confidence) for managing conflict situations to a higher level. Learn what NVC is and how you can communicate much more effectively and confidently in any conflict situation when it arises.
(Note – those of you who know me I often say learning great management skills helps us in all areas of our life – in and out of work – believe me – this is fascinating stuff, and really worth  understanding in any relationship!)

November 30th: Advance skills for managers: Telling stories: how managers can inspire and more effectively motivate their teams through telling stories.

In this, the final webinar of 2012 I’d really like to introduce you to a skill the world best managers all seem to have – the ability to inspire and motivate their teams.
Yes – some people seem to be inspirational naturally – but what if you’re really not sure you are, or even could be? Are there some things you can do which will enhance your ability to inspire others?
Yes! And telling stories is a great way of doing this.
In this webinar, I’m interviewing Nick Owen, master storyteller, who can give you some reasons why you might want to brush up on this skill, and some tips about how to tell stories which will engage the hearts and minds of those you need to follow your vision.
