What are the best ways of creating a real team feeling within the department?

I get  asked this question a lot. Faced with a team which isn’t working as well together as you’d like, it can sometimes be daunting trying to work out just how you can turn it around without spending masses of time, energy and money you don’t have!

If someone stopped any one of your staff in the corridor and asked them how they felt about where they work – what would they say?
